YB Dato’ Haji Kamarudin bin Jaffar, Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia visited Penang Port Commission (PPC). The purpose of the visit is to have a better understanding regarding the Penang Port and to oversee the latest development at the port.

Together with the delegation from Ministry of Transport (MOT) were Division Secretary of Maritime MOT, Mr. Mohamad Halim bin Ahmed, Senior Private Secretary of YB Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Mohamad Zasmi bin Abdul Talib, and Assistant Secretary, Mr. Mohd Afzan bin Azman.

In the morning session of the visit at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT), he was given a briefing by General Manager of PPC, Mrs. Monaliza binti Suhaimi pertaining to the organisation of PPC and also the latest issues. The briefing was also joined by the Chairman of PPC, Tuan Jeffrey Chew Gim Eam and other senior officers of PPC. He was also brought to visit Waving Gallery at SPCT.

Meanwhile in the afternoon session, the delegation was brought to the North Butterworth Contena Terminal (NBCT) for a briefing by Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB) regarding the port operation. They were also brought to visit the port installation at NBCT, Butterworth Wharf and Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal.
