PORT DUES

A port user shall pay the port dues to the Commission based on the LOA of a vessel entering the Port of Penang as follows:

PILOTAGE
2. Pilotage service for berthing or unberthing alongside the wharf is compulsory for vessel of 200 GRT and above.
3. The Commission may at his own discretion order a pilot and issue the bill to the account of the vessel.
4. Pilotage charge is payable on time basis which is calculated from the time the service is required to the time the service is completed.
5. Pilotage charge shall be as follows:

6. If a vessel for which a pilot is requested and for whatsoever reason the service is not used, pilotage shall be payable from the time the pilot is requested until the time he returns to base in accordance with item 1 and 2 of paragraph (5).
TOWAGE

Charges for towage services shall commence from the time the tug is deployed for the operation until the time it is released from the operation.

The following charges shall apply for use of tug boats for assisting or shifting a vessel for berthing or unberthing operations or for towing vessels.

BERTH OCCUPANCY
- Berth occupancy charge shall be payable by each vessel occupying a berth at the Commission's Wharf based on the classification of vessel type. This charge includes labour for berthing and unberthing of vessel but exclude shore cargo handlers working alongside vessel.

PASSENGER HANDLING CHARGES
- Passenger handling charge shall be payable by all passengers or cruise vessels.
- Passenger handling charge is applicable to each passenger joining or leaving vessels alongside including the passenger in transit to go ashore and return.
